Coach’s Comments: The Tigers should be very completely. They are coming off a season of 10 wins and a lost in the sectional championship game to Elwood. We have all but 1.33 innings of ;pitching returning, with two all-conference players leading the way in Drew Overman and Zach Yeagy. We will have a good mix of youth and experience and should compete in the conference and the sectional.

Justin Glass and Curtis Wise will be looked upon to pick up their role within the lineup and Joe Timmerman will be looked upon to jump start things from the top. A major void has been left behind the plate and things are wide open as to who might fill that role. Coach’s Comments: The season looks to be an exciting one for the Oracles as we return eight full-time position starters. Needless to say, our experience will be a strength. However, in order for this squad to return to championship form, they must throw strikes and continue to improve defensively. With that said, this group is cautiously optimistic that the season will provide us with a championship season.

Prospects: Tyler Anderson and Andrew Knapp will return to lead the pitching staff, which will be bolstered by the addition of transfer Tanner Stis. Colton Elbrecht and Spencer Dull will handle the catching. The outfield will be Logan Cunningham in center and Zak Carlson, Dylan Kerfoot and Austin Sowers handling the corner.

Coach’s Comments: The 2010 Slicers returners will return with a bad taste in their mouth. Many of the members of this team were part of the 2009 team that lost in the bottom of the sixth on a grand slam home run by the No. 9 hitter in the second game of the sectional. We have some experience players as the entire pitching staff returns and five starting position players return. Leadership from the returning seniors will be a key ingredient in order for the Slicers to have a successful 2010.

Coach’s Comments: The Tigers must establish depth in the pitching rotation. We return only four seniors, but have 13 players who return with varsity starts. Junior Jacob Shike and senior Joel McMasters have the potential of being the best 1-2 punch in the conference. It will again come down to solid pitching and timely hitting and execution at the plate will decide whether the Tigers can compete with defending conference champion Crawfordsville.

Coach’s Comments: The Miners are coming off another disappointing season in which they finished 13-9 and were sectional runners-up. The young pitching staff that was thrown into the fire last year should be a strength this season. All 13 wins are back. Several seniors and a sophomore pitcher are returning with significant innings. Coach’s Comments: This season should be
exciting for Tiger fans. We return six starters from a 20-10 team. Pitching and
defense will always be what Yorktown baseball hangs it hat on, but this season
should provide more offense with many different contributors. Once again
chemistry and timing will be of utmost importance to further our opportunities
to be a state championship caliber club.
