Hoosier Diamond PO Box 190 Westfield, IN. 46074 317-773-1411 Email: Hoosiermaba@aol.com **IMPORTANT FALL LEAGUE INFORMATION**PLEASE READ
Dear Fall League Participant, Welcome to Hoosier Diamond’s Fall Baseball League. Please carefully read all of the information below. Please review the rosters to find your team assignment. Rosters are posted on our website www.hoosierdiamond.com Rosters are now final. There will be no roster changes prior to the start of the fall league. If you are a player that requested to be teamed with another participant…we have made every attempt possible to honor your request, however, we very strictly follow guidelines set forth by the Indiana High School Athletic Association regarding the number of players that can be assigned to the same team that are enrolled in the same high school (this only applies to high school students). We also make every attempt to equal out the number of positions on each team. Because of this, and because of the large number of last minute registrations received, not all requests could be honored. I apologize if we were unable to honor your request. You will find a schedule on the website. The schedule posted is for Week 1 only. The schedule for weeks 2 through 4 will be posted on Friday September 3rd….remember we are off Labor Day Weekend. You will find it beneficial to check Hoosier Diamond’s website weekly for fall league announcements. Note that currently in the High School Open League we have an odd number of teams. This creates an “off weekend” for one Open League Team each week. You will still receive the same number of games, however, the Open League season will be extended 1 week. During Week 1 Open League Team 9 has the weekend off. You will not start your fall league participation until Week 2 of the fall league (Sunday, September 12). Hoosier Diamond is well respected in promoting baseball talent to college coaches and pro scouts. We’ve been conducting “showcase and exposure camps, and providing recruiting information to college and pro scouts for more than 19 years. Reporting Your Weekly Statistics: Each fall league participant will have the opportunity to submit their weekly fall stats. To do this simply log on to www.hoosierdiamond.com and click the link to the stat form. Remember the stats you submit are weekly stats and not season statistics. Statistics must be submitted by 11:00 p.m. on Monday of each week. Each week Hoosier Diamond will be providing a fall league report to every high school coach with a player from his community in the league, nearly 300 college baseball coaches and pro scouts. Reporting your statistics is important for players in each division (JV, Open, Select). For JV players it is an opportunity to provide the high school coach in your community with some “early” information on your abilities. Also, college coaches really enjoy the opportunity to follow “younger upcoming players.” For players in the Open and Select divisions it is very important that your high school coach has the opportunity to follow your weekly performances. If you have a desire to play college baseball…your weekly statistics are a great opportunity to receive additional exposure to nearly 300 college baseball programs. For 5th / 6th Grade players reporting your weekly stats provides each participant with the opportunity to follow the league and compare their game performances to yours. It is also a great way to track who is leading the league in each stat category each week. Again, I will stress that reporting your weekly statistics is very important. Reporting accurate statistics are even more important. You do not want your creditability affected by reporting incomplete or inaccurate stats. It is important that you report your stats no matter how good or poor your performance was. High school and college coaches understand that every player does not have a stellar performance every game. Hoosier Diamond will be posting weekly statistics on our website so that you can compare your performances to other fall league participants. It is each player’s responsibility to keep their own statistics and to report their own statistics each week. Some fall league coaches may offer to do so for their team; however, it is not something Hoosier Diamond requires the team coaches to do. The link to submit your statistics will be available on our site beginning Sunday. Remember it is the players responsibility to enter their stats each week….not the coach and not the league directors. VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING POTENTIAL RAINOUTS / RAIN DELAYS: Our preferred method for you to find playing conditions at each facility is to simply send an email to playingconditions@hoosierdiamond.com You do not need to put anything into the subject area of your email (a blank email is fine). Within just a couple of minutes of you sending your email you will receive an auto-generated email response from us listing playing conditions. Our automated response is up and running. We encourage you to test this system prior to August 29 (Be aware that sometimes our automated responses are flagged by your spam folder. Please check your spam folder in the event you have not received our email response within just a couple of minutes after sending your email). Keep in mind that it may not be raining at your house, but may have rained at one of our facilities. Please do not hesitate to check conditions prior to you leaving home. Playing conditions for each facility will be posted immediately upon a report from the grounds keeper at each field. Sometimes these reports come in the night before the games. Sometimes our grounds keepers are working hard to avoid rainouts and do not make a determination until shortly before game time. Please understand that we will do everything possible to avoid rainouts, as well as, post playing conditions immediately upon Hoosier Diamond being notified by the facility. It is important that you do not call facilities or call the cell phones of league directors regarding playing conditions. These numbers must stay available for grounds keepers and league directors to communicate with each other regarding playing conditions. In the event you do not have internet access you may call 317-773-1411 for a recorded message regarding rainouts or delays. Please only use this phone number in the event you do not have the ability to use our automated email. Field locations (addresses) are listed at the bottom of the schedule with the league rules. Admission fee at each facility: Trinity Ballpark, which is a privately owned facility, completely separate from Hoosier Diamond. Trinity is managed by Hoosier Diamond’s president Jeff Jellison. Trinity will charge a $3 admission fee to spectators 13 years of age and older. It is my understanding that other fall league facilities will not charge a fee. Hoosier Diamond receives no portion of the admission fee or concessions sold at any of our fall league facilities. Trinity Ballpark prohibits food, drinks or coolers (except water for players) to be brought into the facility. Pets are not permitted in Trinity’s facility. Trinity does offer 2 full service concession stands on site.. Uniforms: Jersey will be provided to each participant, unless you are a member of a team that entered the league and opted not to receive jerseys. It is important that each player wear the jersey number assigned to them on the league roster. In the event you receive a jersey that is the wrong size please inform Hoosier Diamond. Attention High School Open and Select Division Players: Hoosier Diamond will be conducting our fall showcase on Saturday, September 18. Players must report to Trinity Field no later than 9:00 a.m. In the event of rain… evaluations will be conducted inside Trinity’s indoor facility. You will receive more information on the college showcase at a later date. I sincerely hope that your Hoosier Diamond Fall League experience is enjoyable. This year 36 teams, nearly 500 participants, in grades 5 through 12 will participate in our fall league. Our fall league is comprised of players representing nearly 90 different high schools in addition to the numerous middle schools and elementary schools.. 42% of the state’s high school athletic conferences are represented If during the fall league you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call me during normal business hours at my office 317-773-1411 or send me an email to Hoosiermaba@aol.com I’d also encourage you to visit www.hoosierdiamond.com each week to view weekly fall league announcements and league stats.
